NFC 157 Recap
This was my first time watching the National Fighting Championship, NFC, which is a small fight promotion out of Atlanta. It’s not at the level of UFC, but I would watch it again. In fact, if I was in the area, I’d go to watch the fights, and I’m pretty sure the fights were held at a bar in a mall. It seems like a fun time, and the winners are given a medallion.
For the fights themselves, NFC offers a mix of fights. The first one of the night was a no gi jiu jitsu match, followed by 3 amateur mma fights. Now, I didn’t watch the whole fight card due to my schedule, but the mma fights I saw all wore shin guards. I don’t know if that is because those were amateur fights or if that’s how NFC does it.
At this level of competition all the fighters are either trying to make it to the big leagues like UFC, Bellator, etc. or they are just doing it for fun. The most experienced fighter has a record of 1-2. I’ll keep my eye on it hoping to one day see a fighter in the big leagues.
